Why Complaining Is Your Worst Enemy

Why Complaining Is Your Worst Enemy

When I’m in a funk I have a tendency to complain to anyone who can hear me. Obviously, this doesn’t help them and it doesn’t help me. As soon as I catch myself doing this I force myself to shift gears.

Complaining only makes things worse. Find a solution.

Bottom line is that you’re never going to get where you wanna be by complaining about where you are right now.

Each step in your life is preparing you for the one that comes after it.

Any time spent complaining is a missed opportunity to actually do something positive instead of wasting our energy on something that only makes us unhappier.

If you put 10% of the energy that you put into complaining and applied it to solving your present problem. You’d be surprised at how well and how fast things can work out.

But I will tell you, I forget this sometimes.

And I’m writing this too to remind myself of this.

Feeling like you want to complain, feeling defeated and discouraged is a sign that it’s time to make a change

Make that change.

I think down deep inside every single one of us knows what that change should be.

  • Could be a change of heart.
  • A change of habits.
  • Or even a change of perspective.

But realizing that the way things are going isn’t working anymore.

Be inspired, let’s make it happen!

Be Lazy!

Be Lazy!

My message for you today is: Be Lazy.

And with that, I don’t mean do nothing for the rest of your life, but it’s okay to recharge, take a few days to recoup and reflect.

I really just want to challenge the assumption that the more rest you take the lazier you are.

Don’t know if you have noticed, but I think that the people who are well rested have far better well-being than the general people I come across.

I used to think that grinding and working all the time was the key to success.

But in the end that just led to being stressed, not getting enough sleep and just killing my productivity altogether.

Of course, there is work to be done, but you just have to find smart and effective ways to work.

By far the best example is starting a business. Your chances of building wealth are incomparably higher because your earning potential is not limited by anything.

You can multiply yourself by automating your business, outsourcing, hiring employees, or leveraging platforms like Facebook and Youtube.

If you want long-term happiness in your life, you have to find ways to automate and systemize your work.

Avoid hard work as much as possible.

Because in a way, the lazier you are, you become more effective.

You find ways to do more with less time.

Be Bold, Take Action & Make it Happen,

X Nicole

[VIDEO] How Will You Get To YOUR Paradise Island?

* Straight talk zone*

Today I wanted to give you a bit of a ‘behind the scenes’ look. On one of the live webinars held for our community recently.

People often want to know why we don’t provide our training for free.

Put simply, with the standard of what we offer within our training and membership, it’s not feasible to do so.

Co-founder Stuart will explain in the video below.

How will you get to YOUR Paradise Island?

For anyone considering taking the leap into the ‘shark infested waters’ of online business. Here are a few thoughts from co-founder Stuart that you need to be OK with if you’re interested in undertaking any of our mentorship and training.

The analogy he uses for why and how we do what we do is the best one I’ve heard so far.

He can say it so much better than I ever could, so here is a tiny glimpse in one of the webinars that are normally for students only.

No BS

As always, a short but sharp shot in the arm of truth from Stu.

I don’t know about you but that’s why I love working with these guys.

No hype, no BS, just a genuine desire to want to help others achieve their own success and start living life on their own terms.

So… if you cannot handle some straight talk, I suggest you do NOT hit play on the below:

Other Kinds Of Freedom: From Couch Potato To…

By now, you’ve probably noticed my brands name: My Laptop Lifestyle Design. My goal is to take you with me on my journey of designing a lifestyle filled with freedom, whether that be financial, with time, location, mind or body.

And today I want to talk to you about the latter.

Because we can’t enjoy our freedom if we are physically not feeling great.

That’s why I started yoga about a month ago.

Which wasn’t easy because I’m a HUGE couch potato!

After a day of working I LOVE snuggling up on the couch and watch my favorite Netflix series all evening long. I would notice that my body was tired, but didn’t feel like exercising because I was ‘too tired’ and got to bed with my body aching.

But hey, trying to improve my life here!

And with so many people around me and in the SFM community raving about yoga, I thought I should at least give it a go.

First week thoughts:

Day 1. ‘Damn, I’m out of shape’

Day 2. ‘How long does this yoga session take?’

Day 3. If I’ll have to do one more downward facing dog I’ll lose my mind’

Day 4. ‘Hm. I’m actually a bit more relaxed..’

Day 5. ‘My body doesn’t nearly feel as tired anymore as it did before this workout.’

Day 6. ‘I’m no longer stressed, my body feels warm and flexible, and I’m maybe – kind of –  starting to enjoy this…

Day 7. ‘I’m actually looking forward to day 8!’

If you want to check out the yoga teacher I’m following on YouTube, it’s Yoga With Adriene and I loved her 30-day yoga challenge, for about 20 minutes a day.

I now feel so good when I’m doing it and am patting myself on the back for taking this time for myself. I’m even sad if I had to miss a day!

Yoga is really helping me getting in touch again with my body. I also want to give a little more TLC to my mind, so this week I’ve started to read into meditation. I want to work on meditating daily to help me reduce stress and anxiety. I’ll let you know how I get on and if you’re looking for a way to get moving again, I could definitely recommend yoga now ;-)!

Looking forward to seeing you live your awesome life,

Nicole

4 Simple Tips To The Best Start Of Your Day

4 Simple Tips To The Best Start Of Your Day

I kid you not, I’d LOVE to be a morning person. But I’m not. Really. “I’ll just snooze 5 more minutes”, I’ll say to myself. And another 5.. And another. In the morning I just feel like: “don’t look at me. I need a shower, my tea and yes, now you may speak.”

That may sound a bit exaggerated, but I sometimes really do have trouble getting out of bed in the morning, not because I don’t love to get started with my day, but my bed is just too damn comfy!

Over time I figured out that my day just starts out 10x better if I just take these 4 simple steps every day:

1. Plan my day the night before.

Actually knowing what you’ll have to do the next day will give you a reason to get out of bed and get started. Don’t do this and you’ll just first to every work-avoiding task you can think of before really getting started.

2. As soon as I get up, I make my bed.

By doing this your brain feels like you already completed one task right at the start of you r day, giving you a feeling of accomplishment and ready to take on the world!

3. Drink a glass of water.

Your body hasn’t had fluids in about 8 hours, so it’s important to rehydrate and wake the bodily functions up with a glass of water. This will make you feel 10x more awake.

4. Really look at your vision board.

Remember this guy? We talked about vision boards and the importance of them in one of my last blogs. Reminding yourself WHY you got up this early will boost your motivation.

And always:

“Look at your tasks like they were given to you by the Universe because really, they were.”

What are your ways to create your best possible day? Oh and a little bonus tip: sleep with your curtains halfway open! That way, the natural light signals your brain that it’s time to wake up!

The Vision Board: What It Is, Why You Need One And How To Create It

The Vision Board: What It Is, Why You Need One And How To Create It

I LOVE vision boards. They get me all pumped up, excited and ready to kick butt!

So how can you create your own?

What is a vision board?

A vision board is a collage of images, words, and ideas you’re drawn to.

It lets you collect all those images that catch your eye or stir an emotional response and keep them visible and at the front of your mind, where they can then work their magic.

“What the mind can conceive, it can achieve.”

What do I put on my vision board?

Look for images that represent a specific life goal, how do they make you feel? The image can’t just look nice. It needs to make you feel something, too.

Print or cut out images that represent goals in various parts of your life you want to improve on like:

  • Relationships
  • Career
  • Finances
  • Home
  • Travel
  • Personal growth (including spirituality, social life, education) and
  • Health.

+ Print out a bunch of pictures of yourself!

Remember your board can contain:

  • Anything that motivates you
  • Images that make you smile
  • Inspiring quotes
  • Daily affirmations.

But MOST importantly: make sure that you are in there yourself

If you want a Ferrari, stick your own head on the driver. If you want to be on a beach, paste your body on the white sands. Or just a photo of you in a really happy moment that you would like more of in your life – put it in there.

Your mind needs to see it as a reality as if it has already happened.

How do I use my vision board?

Using your vision board is simple.

The most important step is to make sure it’s somewhere you can easily see it: above your desk or on your bedroom wall.

Look at your vision board as often as you can and visualize how it will feel to realize those dreams.

If you feel the board no longer catches your attention, either hang it in a different place or change the images that no longer excite you.

MY Vision Board

Down here you can see my vision board! It’s full of love, travel, freedom, good vibes and financial success. These are the things that are super important to me and motivate me every day to go out there and crush it!

And don’t worry about it being perfect! As long as it makes you feel good, you’re doing great!

I would LOVE to see your vision board, leave a comment or connect with me on Facebook,

I would love to chat!
