I kid you not, I’d LOVE to be a morning person. But I’m not. Really. “I’ll just snooze 5 more minutes”, I’ll say to myself. And another 5.. And another. In the morning I just feel like: “don’t look at me. I need a shower, my tea and yes, now you may speak.”
That may sound a bit exaggerated, but I sometimes really do have trouble getting out of bed in the morning, not because I don’t love to get started with my day, but my bed is just too damn comfy!
Over time I figured out that my day just starts out 10x better if I just take these 4 simple steps every day:
1. Plan my day the night before.
Actually knowing what you’ll have to do the next day will give you a reason to get out of bed and get started. Don’t do this and you’ll just first to every work-avoiding task you can think of before really getting started.
2. As soon as I get up, I make my bed.
By doing this your brain feels like you already completed one task right at the start of you r day, giving you a feeling of accomplishment and ready to take on the world!
3. Drink a glass of water.
Your body hasn’t had fluids in about 8 hours, so it’s important to rehydrate and wake the bodily functions up with a glass of water. This will make you feel 10x more awake.
4. Really look at your vision board.
Remember this guy? We talked about vision boards and the importance of them in one of my last blogs. Reminding yourself WHY you got up this early will boost your motivation.
“Look at your tasks like they were given to you by the Universe because really, they were.”
What are your ways to create your best possible day? Oh and a little bonus tip: sleep with your curtains halfway open! That way, the natural light signals your brain that it’s time to wake up!
