Surround Yourself With The Dreamers And Doers

Surround Yourself With The Dreamers And Doers

Think of the five or ten people you surround yourself with. Are they passionate about their lives? Do they inspire you? Are they positive and uplifting?
If the answer is no.. Then I would highly recommend you rethink those relationships and find people that will.

You see… If you take a closer look you’ll notice that you are an average of the people you surrounded yourself with.

I choose to surround myself with people who impact the way I think. People that whip me into action and inspire me to be the person I want to be.

And just so you know:

The people you surround yourself with don’t always have to be in person. You can immerse yourself in books, podcasts, videos and more, which will impact the way you live.

The truth is that I used to think running an online business was not for me.

There were so many scams out there that promise the world without you lifting a finger. I thought online businesses were a myth.

Then I started hanging out with digital entrepreneurs, who had passion, drive, purpose, and dreams.

They showed me how I could build an online business I would be proud of. That I would be able to create the life I dreamed of. As long as I had the right mentality and determination to go out there and do it.

Those masterminds with other people, just sharing and uplifting one another is so important. They can support us, make us believe in ourselves and have the confidence to go after the things we want most in life.

“Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see the greatness within you, even when you don’t see it yourself.”
― Edmund Lee

So I challenge you to start involving yourself with people who lift you. Inspire you. And motivate you to do and be more.

And as you grow, this might mean changing friends and colleagues, and that’s part of life.

Just trust in the power of your environment because it’s the people you surround yourself with that will play a huge factor in living the life you dream of.

Why Millennials Don’t Have To Build A Business Based On Passion

Why Millennials Don’t Have To Build A Business Based On Passion

It’s one of the most common questions of our generation: what are you passionate about?

And if you’re a really ‘good’ millennial, you find a way to make your passion your job.

Just a little while ago I would have fit perfectly in that description. I would have agreed that it’s very important to be passionate about your job.

But lately, I’ve experienced differently when building a business.

Does it have to be purely based on what you’re passionate about?

The answer for me now is no.

When I was still solely working as a freelance graphic designer I was working from a state of passion. I enjoyed it very much, but hey, there are more things I love about life besides graphic design.

Friends, family, traveling, having free time to do whatever I wanted.

Finding YOUR vehicle

I ventured into affiliate marketing as a means for me to not only generate a source of income. But as a vehicle. A vehicle that would enable me to pursue and discover other things in life that truly excite and inspire me.

I wrote an E-book on how to get started in affiliate marketing, check it out here. You will also find 7 videos that will explain the concept of affiliate marketing to a T.

Let the results make you excited about your vehicle.

As I’m building an online business which works on automation and systems, I know this will enable me to go after those things in a way that would not have been possible with just my graphic design income.

Just like the people in my last blog who figured out a way to quit their jobs, travel the world full time and make money online. They weren’t passionate about the ‘how’ but passionate about the life it would give them.

As a graphic designer, I needed all kinds of equipment to do my work, visit clients personally and work 60+ hour weeks.

With My Laptop Lifestyle Design, I can work whenever, wherever I want, as long as I have my laptop and an internet connection.

I have so much more opportunities to discover things about myself now, compared to then.

The right business can change your life

When you come home tired every day and all you really want to do is Netflix all night. There isn’t really lots of time or energy to discover hidden passions.

I also feel that I’m so much more committed to this business than I ever was in my graphic design company. Since becoming more successful in graphic design would mean I’d be swamped with work.

Comparing this to my online business I know that the more successful I become, the more financial, time and location freedom I will have.

Start with why.

The notion of having a life completely free and for me to enjoy is what really drives and motivates me. More than my graphic design business ever did.

Even though I thought I was so passionate about that.

That is my why. And that is how I started to get passionate about the vehicle (affiliate marketing) that enables me to pursue it.

A great book on finding your why is ‘Start With Why’ by Simon Sinek

What makes you want to do whatever it takes?

So find out what your why is and what you will do anything for to get where you want to be.

What is it that truly excites and motivates you? Is it spending more time with your family? Is it having the freedom to travel the world?

Find passion a career, vehicle or both!

If for any reason what you love doing is not generating you enough money as a form of business or a career path. Then look into building a business that will propel you forward, a vehicle that will enable you to do more of what it is that you love and get passionate about it!

The more action you take in your life, the more you will discover so much about yourself and what inspires you and that’s where your true passion lies.

What do you think?

Do you ever feel like you’re not passionate about what you’re doing anymore (even though you did start out that way!)? Maybe you realized it isn’t the thing that truly makes you happy…

I’d love to hear your takes on this! Don’t forget that comments are always welcome and appreciated – I’d LOVE to hear what you think!

How People Quit Their Jobs And Travel The World Through Social Media

How People Quit Their Jobs And Travel The World Through Social Media

If you’re on social media, you’ve probably seen amazing articles come by of people in their twenties. Living unbelievably good lives after they just quit their jobs and travel the world full time. Whilst making a living through social media, selling products online, blogging, photography, whatever.

I know I saw those people quit their jobs and was just like, how the heck do they do that? And how can I do that too?

I found out how I could create a life like that for myself.

With the ever changing world due to technology, there are so many opportunities to earn an income. But also have financial security and freedom.

That hasn’t really clicked with the mainstream yet because people believe and are taught that there is a trade-off.

You either have security or you have freedom and the more you have of one, the less you have of the other.

Times are different now and I’m just starting to understand that

Back in the fall of 2016 I probably had one of the biggest lightbulb moments of my entire life. I was working as a freelancer, working 60+ hours a week and even though I enjoy my work. I realized as I grew more and more successful, I had less and less time for myself and the things I really enjoyed doing.

I was losing my sense of freedom.

Yes, the money is nice, but it just wasn’t fulfilling me the same way it once did. I knew deep down it wasn’t enabling me to live my life the way I wanted. Traveling the world, enjoying all that life had to offer NOW, like those people that quit their jobs.

Yet, we stick it out because we don’t think we have a choice.

I am seeing now that there are alternatives to spending your entire life working in a career you don’t really want to be in.

Figuring out how to do things differently

You can earn a passive income while you’re traveling the world or simply spending time with your friends, family or yeah, just doing what you want to do instead of making your bosses dreams a reality and not of your own.

So you might be able to relate to me on this. I’m sure you’ve had this thought of yeah, the money is nice, but is this really it?

I knew it wasn’t for me and I’d much rather figure out a way to do it differently now. Instead of when I’m an old woman full of regret because I can’t do the things I wanted to do anymore.

We’re here to create a life we’re passionate about, that drives us, makes us proud. Something that makes you want to get up in the morning instead of hitting that alarm clock with a big sigh.

It’s the digital age, but we’re schooled like it’s the industrial age

Bestselling author Robert Kiyosaki of ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ very well described what society has drummed into our heads. That we have to go to school, go to college, get good grades, get a good job, climb up the corporate ladder. And then one day if we’re lucky we might be able to retire with enough money so we can live out the rest of our lives comfortably but within our means.

That idea in today’s economy is just a completely redundant strategy! This is the digital age, not the industrial age and we literally have limitless opportunities at our fingertips and in our pockets.

So many big companies and normal people already figured it out

I mean, let me give you an example. Think of the biggest taxi company in the world. You know who they are and they do not own a single taxi. It’s Uber.

Now think of the largest hotel company in the world and you can probably guess where I’m going with this, it’s Airbnb and again, they do not own a single hotel.

All these companies built their businesses through connectivity and automation, so connecting the buyers to the sellers.

They don’t own their own products, they are just the connector.

This is called an affiliate model. If that just sounds a bit confusing to you how that all would work, don’t worry it’s really not. And just a few months ago I had no idea.

I didn’t have a clue about any of this or even knew it existed.

How did I find my new path?

I was watching motivational videos on YouTube to get some inspiration for my career when a video popped up. A bit similar to this and it came from a guy named Chris.

He talked about how he used connectivity and automation to build an online business that enabled him to travel whenever he wanted with his girlfriend, his brother and hís girlfriend all around the world, to work less and less as he understood the business more and more.

And as long as he had a laptop and an internet connection, he could run his business.

As I was watching this I just started to feel so excited and electrified because this was EXACTLY the answer that I had been looking for. But I just didn’t know what it was!

They offered me a free video series from their personal mentors Stuart Ross and Jay Kubassek. These videos explained into detail how all of this was possible and how it worked.

Of course, with anything on the internet, I was a bit skeptical, but I thought what the heck, the videos are free so there’s no harm in checking it out.

Not there yet, but on my way

And I can’t tell you how glad I am that I did. Because those video series completely changed my perception of what I thought was possible and it put me into a totally new direction.

I am now building my online business and finally on the path to living a life of freedom. I’m not there yet, but I know I will get there, which was not a reality for me before.

And I believe that everybody in this day and age should have the opportunity to do so as well.

If people want to be free from the corporate rat race and if they have the drive and determination to go out there and do it. Then they should have every opportunity to create this kind of life because it’s within everybody’s reach.

So with that said, I’m at a stage now in my journey where I want to give this same video series forward to you for free. It’s the exact same one that got me on this journey.

Everything worth doing will take work

Look be under no illusions that what I’m talking about right now is going to be easy. That you’ll make loads of money by tomorrow morning and that you’ll be on that plane to Bali and surf the waves next week…

But with work, dedication, time and effort, you can create the lifestyle you want.

So if this sounds interesting to you and I’ve hopefully, hopefully, hopefully, made a little light bulb go on in your head. That you can have the life you dream of, enter your e-mail address here, and I’ll send you the same video series that I got.

Now, you’re intelligent enough to figure out whether this is right for you. Or not, and that’s okay because it isn’t for everybody.

Everyone has a different path and has different needs in life. I don’t know your background or your story so that’s a judgment call you’ll have to make.

But as I say, if it does sound interesting to you, click here. As a BONUS I’m throwing my E-book in for free. Because I wan to share everything with you that I’ve learned so far and to really get you started.

Why I Dread Getting Older Even Though I’m In My Twenties

Why I Dread Getting Older Even Though I’m In My Twenties

A few weeks ago I turned 24 and I really wasn’t that happy about it.

I’m getting older.

And I know that might sound completely crazy for someone who is past their twenties.

But for me, I see my twenties as the time where I become successful, create the ultimate lifestyle for myself and actually get to enjoy that lifestyle to it’s fullest in my twenties too.

So every year passing by where I feel that I have not reached that point yet feels like another year of missed opportunities and unfulfilled potential. Another year of things I didn’t do and things I haven’t achieved yet.

Your ‘prime’ age

I believe that everyone has an age in their mind which they believe to be the ‘best’ age. For me, that would be 21. For others, it might be 18, 23, 25, 30 – whatever. The point is that we all have an age we idealize and we’d want ourselves still to be.

Until I turned 21 the I felt that there was still plenty of time to do all the things I wanted to do and become the badass I pictured myself to be.

For example, I thought: ‘oh, I’ll start thinking about kids when I’m 28 or something’. With 28 now only being 4 short years away, my mind is panicking by even the thought of it.

Now honestly, I know it all sounds a bit dramatic – feeling past your ‘prime’ at 24 really shouldn’t be something to worry about. But I know I’m not alone, even though I do feel a bit weird for writing about it.

Why the drama?

All the time we are told young is better. Everywhere you go it’s promoted to look, feel, behave and talk younger. Becoming older is branded as some kind of a sickness that we constantly need to find remedies for.

But hey, getting older is going to happen whether you like it or not – or you’d have to become a vampire or something. Growing old is a luxury that many don’t have.

Apart from that, reaching your fullest potential is subjective. When I was 17, my idea of fulfilling my potential was graduating from the School of the Arts and having my own freelance business.

Now, I have completely different ideas of what it means to fulfill my potential. Right now, it’s to create an online business that provides me with financial, time and location freedom.

It’s like climbing a mountain. Once we’ve reached the top, we’re high enough to see the next peak.

It’s the same with life, we are constantly creating success in our lives (and getting older in the process), but are too focussed on the next peak.

We’re chasing the feeling of time being on our sides, but really, it still is, no matter what your age. You are 100% in control of your life and to make choices that will bring you fulfillment.

For me that is learning new skills in a business that will enable me to work less and travel more, live to enjoy life in abundance and not in scarcity.

Yes, our time is not limitless, but we also do not have to live with time poverty. Feeling like you don’t have the time to do what you want to do, with the people you want to do it and when you want to do it and feeling you are trapped.

I’m getting rid of time poverty in my life. My mentors are waking me and thousands of other people up to the notion that you can have it all and teach me how to create that life.

Life is not a dress rehearsal.

What do you think?

Do you ever feel like you’re too old (even though you’re still young!)? Have you had some sort of quarter-life crisis?

Don’t forget that comments are always welcome and appreciated – I’d LOVE to hear what you think!
